This is not my thought (as my blog mentions).... its my effort to write a story (second story of mine). I am as of now an amateur story teller trying to explore my story telling skills.
In the silence of the night nearly around 2 AM, when the train was about to leave the station, those 2 great friends never knew that they will not see each other again in their lifetime. If they will ever meet in future, that would be an applause to their great friendship as their friendship was being put to test.
That day when they got separated, a secret lie within them which they could not share with anyone as that would sound absurd. They both possessed a wish they could use only on their birthdays - one wish which can be used at any of their future birthdays. This wish was given to them by a djinn whom they met at a haunted place.
It was the cursed djinn's presence in that haunted place which separated Johannes and Genny that night. But they were oblivious to this fact. Even after their separation, meticulous attempts were involved in creating circumstances between these distant friends which left no traces of each other's existence. Their letters never reached each other neither did their phone calls. Its been a year when they realized that they have got to move on.
That night when they were separated, Johannes went to school accompanied by Genny, they studied in the same standard and were considered a paragon of friendship by everyone in their school. Johannes was in a mood for adventure that evening, and asked Genny to go with him to a haunted place in their locality. They left after their science class and went to this place, it was deserted since their childhood and the local people believed that this was considered haunted because of a person named Clara whose temper levels killed her.
Their area's Clairvoyant sensed her death long before and warned her that her death would be the consequence of the uncontrollable anger she gets. She hurts herself when she is out of control with anger.
That day, when she died, the moment her soul left the body, she saw a djinni laughing looking in her direction. The Djinns are usually not visible to the people who did not summon them except for the souls.
The real fact was that the djinn was observing some group of boys through the window, they were playing outside when this sudden death incident took place. This was misunderstood by that girl's spirit and right away came a curse from her mouth. The curse was that the Djinni will be locked in her house and only his wish (which he grants to others) can exempt him from this curse.
This girl was considered to be good but she could not stand when people behaved stupidly selfish. When she died, that was the day she started believing that the word "humanity" has lost its meaning and that this can be replaced with another word which may mean "SELFISHNESS". Its her best friend who can be blamed for her death but that fact was dead and gone.
The Djinn would attain redemption when people use his wish not for their benefit but for others(not acting selfish).
That night when Johannes and Genny were separated, the curse was intensified by Clara's presence, she was visiting the djinn after around 500 years. This is the reason why those friends were separated that day. There was a positive vibration in the kind of friendship they shared which made Clara believe that she would be proven wrong when she says that human beings are selfish as hell. Through out her life, she was trying to find a friend who was selfless at least towards her. When she encountered their friendship, she was a bit jealous and put those friends to a test.
Since Johannes and Genny shared their birthdays, they remembered about this wish and sat down to jot down all the wishes they ever wanted. Genny's wishes included one selfless wish - "Johannes should be happy wherever he is, whether he remembers me or not". Though not of the same kind, but Johannes wish was also selfless and it included Genny's happiness.
Thus broke the curse, the djinn and Clara's soul were emancipated from the bondage.
The curse which prevailed on Johannes and Genny was also broken and they met each other the very next day. Both of them were at a conference on "The Djinns - Demons or Angels in disguise". Somehow they both took interest in knowing more about Djinns of all time. Their phenomenal experiments proved that djinns existed, but what they failed on was to summon the djinn who gave them a wish.
At last, when they met, they had to do this first to know what happened that night as they had their own inklings that their last night before departing was doomed. There came the djinn and explained all that happened to them, that is when they felt overwhelmed by their actions.
A memorable friendship, that is what everyone needs. However bad the world may look, its the friends in your life who make the world a better place to live.
On this note, I wish everyone gets at least one friend to whom they can turn to at any situation of their life.
