Thought Provoking Thoughts

I read a newsletter sometime back which started out with an aphorism “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he”. Then later, I came across many such kind of adages like:
“When you really want something, the whole world conspires in your favor”
“All that you accomplish or fail to accomplish with your life is the direct result of your thoughts.”
“Our thoughts create our feelings, beliefs, and experiences”
“If our thinking is negative, we can drown in a sea of negativity; if it’s positive, we can float on the ocean of life.”
“Watch out your thoughts as they become words and Words become Actions.”

The above things have been told by different people but the lesson to be learnt or rather to realize is that to keep a careful watch on what we think day-in and day-out.

These proverbs have intrigued me to such an extent that I am now a staunch believer of every word written in the above sayings. The book “The Secret” by the author Rhonda Byrne reveals a concept similar to mind over matter kind of stuff. She says that every person is a transmitter/receiver and sends signals to this universe, the universe then picks these signals and respond on what we need. Mind you, the signals to be reaching the universe should be plain and straight forward and the first point where it will actually start is from our thoughts and then our actions. For more understanding, you can always read the book “The Secret”.

Dan Brown – author of “The Lost Symbol” has also mentioned about such kind of similar concept “MIND OVER MATTER”. If you think of having anything, meditating on it and hoping to have it would be sufficient to get it. Sometimes, people’s thoughts are so strong that they take shape very quickly, that’s because the intensity of the thoughts being very high.

Thoughts are ever flowing in our minds, either as conscious thoughts or sub-conscious thoughts. But believe me, at every moment of our life, we are thinking about something or the other consciously or sub-consciously when we are awake.

I came across a site on
intention which is trying to prove through a new technology “Noetic Sciences” that human mind has the capability to change its surroundings. Noetic refers to "inner knowing," a kind of intuitive consciousness—direct and immediate access to knowledge beyond what is available to our normal senses and the power of reason. For non-believers, researching more into the Noetic Sciences would definitely bring a new ray of hope.

I would probably go on and on for this topic. Time and again, there have been many incidents or I must say that there are miracles that happened in an ordinary life, something extra-ordinary, which according to me are the result of our own thoughts and their intensity.
